I hated her. I always hated my mother. Until her dying day I asked her "Why did you do this to me?", and she could never answer me because she was also brought up in a mission. I didn't understand that. I'm beginning to understand how and why they brought us up this way, and why they put us in a mission. Because they didn't know any better. They thought that it was good for us. We needed discipline and we had better food than they did. I know a lot of people say they were better off at home. But in our area I don't think that was the case. Living was hard.
